We promote community enjoyment of the Natick trail network and advance responsible, accessible recreation through education, volunteerism, and partnerships.

​About FoNT

Friends of Natick Trails (FoNT) was established in 2016 to help support the Cochituate Rail Trail (CRT) and the emerging trail network throughout Natick and the region. We help fundraise to support and maintain the CRT, and partner with Town departments and community groups to make our trails work better for the health and enjoyment of everyone.

FoNT is governed by a Board of Directors. FoNT offers membership as a way to get involved and support our mission. Members support FoNT, but do not have a role in governance. We welcome members to join committees, volunteer, meet other trail supporters, and help on the CRT and other trails. Sign up here.

FoNT has an agreement with the Town of Natick to offer various sponsorships on the Cochituate Rail Trail. Proceeds from sponsorships are directed to the Town for the Cochituate Rail Trail Maintenance and Enhancements Revolving Fund, while FoNT typically retains a small portion for expenses directly related to sponsorships or other approved expenses. Under the FoNT agreement with Natick, we provide an annual report to the Town, which is accepted by the Select Board.

FoNT is a project of our fiscal sponsor, the Nonprofit Organization for Philanthropic Initiatives (NOPI), an umbrella group that holds 501(c)(3) status. NOPI receives a small percentage of donations to FoNT in exchange for services we receive. Prior to affiliating with NOPI, FoNT’s fiscal sponsor was Mission.Earth. Our fiscal sponsor does not receive any funding due to the Town for CRT sponsorships. Please reach out with any questions!
